What Photos to Send for an Accurate Water Pump Suggestion
A few well-taken phone photos can replace a lot of back-and-forth. Here is what to capture before you send a water pump enquiry.

A phone-camera checklist that makes the HP and price suggestion much more accurate
Our process starts on WhatsApp: you send photos of the pump area and your location, we suggest the horsepower and price, and then we install, wire and test. Of those steps, the photos are the one that most affects how accurate the suggestion is. Clear pictures answer questions before anyone has to ask them.
You do not need any technical knowledge to take useful photos. You only need to know what to point the camera at. This checklist walks through it.
Before you start: a few simple habits
- Take photos in daylight if the area is outdoors, or switch on every light if it is indoors.
- Step back first, then go close. One wide shot shows where things are; one close shot shows details.
- Keep the phone horizontal for wide shots so more of the surroundings fit in.
- Do not climb anywhere unsafe. If the tank is hard to reach, a photo from the hatch or the ground is enough.
Photo 1: the area where the pump will go
This is the most important photo. Show the wall, floor or stand where you expect the pump to sit, with enough of the surroundings to see how much space there is. Include the ground, any drain nearby, and whether the spot is under a roof or open to rain.
Add a second angle
Take one more photo from the side. It shows depth, which a front-on photo often hides, and helps us judge how the pipes can reach the pump.

Photo 2: the water tank, if you have one
If your home uses a roof or ground tank, photograph it and the pipe coming out of it. We want to see where water leaves the tank, because that is usually where the pump draws from. A photo through the ceiling hatch is fine.
Photo 3: the pipes around the area
Take a photo of the pipes running past the planned pump spot. Clear photos of pipe size and material help us see whether the connection is straightforward or whether pipe modification is likely. Pipe modification is quoted separately, so spotting it early keeps the price conversation clear.
Photo 4: the nearest power point
A booster pump needs electricity. Photograph the closest socket or isolator to the pump area, ideally in the same frame as the planned spot so the distance is visible. Basic wiring is included in the installation price; if extra wiring is needed to reach a suitable power point, it is quoted separately.
Photo 5: your existing pump, if any
If there is already a pump, take three shots: the whole pump with pipes on both sides, the nameplate up close, and the switch or controller. If it is making noise or cycling on and off, a short video with sound is very helpful. This tells us whether a repair quotation, a replacement, or removal of the old pump should be part of the conversation. Old-pump removal is quoted separately.

What to write alongside the photos
Photos show the space; a few lines explain the problem. Add:
- Your location (town and state is enough to start).
- The type of property: terrace, semi-detached, bungalow, shoplot, and how many floors.
- What you notice: weak upstairs shower, pressure dropping when two taps run, and so on.
- Whether you want supply and installation, or installation only for a pump you already own.
What happens after you send them
We look at the photos and suggest an HP (0.50HP, 0.75HP or 1.00HP) with a brand option. For Tsunami, that is RM1,800 per unit for 0.50HP, RM2,000 per unit for 0.75HP and RM2,200 per unit for 1.00HP, supply and installation. For Grundfos, it is RM3,600 per unit for 0.50HP, RM3,800 per unit for 0.75HP and RM4,000 per unit for 1.00HP, supply and installation. If you already have a pump, installation only is RM800 per unit, installation only. You can browse the full range in our pump catalogue or see both brands side by side in the comparison.
Each supply and installation price covers the pump, installation, basic wiring, and pressure and function testing. If your photos show that pipe modification, extra wiring or old-pump removal will be needed, we will say so and quote it separately.
